Women in Africa and Asia face many hardships—ranging from illiteracy and discrimination to abuse and exploitation. But that’s not the end of their story. As your partnership equips GFA missionaries and Sisters of the Cross to display God’s love and compassion to these women, they’re finding hope in Christ and becoming agents of transformation in their communities. Join us this month as we pray for God to bring hope, healing and help to women in Africa and Asia, wich will create a ripple effect in their families and communities.

With special training to meet the practical needs of hurting and marginalized people, Sisters of the Cross exemplify Christ’s love in powerful ways. Whether they are tutoring children, cleaning the wounds of leprosy patients, praying for hospitalized people or teaching practical skills to widows, they need the Lord’s sustaining grace to “not grow weary while doing good” (Galatians 6:9).

Please ask God to strengthen, encourage and unify Sisters of the Cross teams as they serve their communities. Pray His love will fill each Sister daily so He will be glorified through all her good deeds.

Women’s Fellowships not only offer a place of refuge and growth to women in the local church (many of whom are new Christians¬), they also mobilize women to be lights for Christ in their communities. As women pray together, they grow in Christ and find ways to share Christ’s love by meeting practical needs.

Join Women’s Fellowships in praying that each woman in the local church will be built up in her faith and become a catalyst for kingdom growth in her community.

As GFA missionaries and Sisters of the Cross offer literacy programs in their communities, women gain the invaluable gifts of reading and writing—gifts that allow them to better run households or businesses and to connect more deeply with God’s Word.

Pray that God will open doors for GFA missionaries to start more literacy classes. Ask Him to encourage and empower women through these classes, fill them with joy in reading God’s Word, and use them to be a blessing to their families and communities.

Pastors’ wives often play an integral role in leading women’s ministry in their communities. As they support their husbands’ ministries, some also lead the local Women’s Fellowship or teach literacy or tailoring classes. They need prayer to stand firmly alongside their husbands during ministry’s ups and downs and spiritual attacks.

Pray God will minister to the heart of each pastor’s wife, filling her with His love so she can share it with others. Ask the Lord to guide her and give her faith to move forward in whatever ministries will be most effective for her congregation and community.
